Nike Air Jordan 4 Retro Union Off Noir

After a couple of first looks, the Union LA x Air Jordan 4 collection has finally been unveiled! Chris from Union LA said this about the collection:

“The vision here was to mix suede and mesh fabrics, so we worked very hard to find the right materials. For suede we took a cue from very thick but soft suede and it wasn’t that easy.
For the colors we wanted to continue the story we started with AJ 1; black, white, red and blue, while offering something new. So we used alternate versions of these colors.

In the past, I’ve always liked wearing my shoes with a short tongue, so I folded them over and tied them. So we decided to fold the flap over and sew it with the same stitch pattern we used on the 1. The good news here is that the stitch can easily be removed to reveal a normal size of the flap if that’s your preference. Another fun detail is that with the tongue folded over the original “AIR JORDAN” internal branding it now becomes external.

The other important thing we did was tweak the lining to create a slightly different shape from the shoe. You may not understand it at first, but when you compare our design to that of the OG AJ IV, you can tell that we’ve added an extra panel. We did this for 2 reasons; first of all, it created an improved view when you look down … my favorite view is when you look at the shoes from above. Secondly, it allows for a more balanced relationship between mesh and suede, which is also something I was trying to achieve. Nike Air Jordan 4 Retro Union Off Noir.
